Video: SWAT Team - Peripheral Heart Circuit Training
"You need to be able to all of a sudden have a sudden burst of energy. Something happens and all of a sudden we have to move. So you might be standing completely stagnant for 3 hours waiting outside of an apartment or house and all of a sudden BOOM it's time to breech the door and take over a house as quickly and efficiently as possible."
GASP teams up with Butch Steinle, Jeremy Hart and the Lewisville Police S.W.A.T team for a typical "Peripheral heart training" circuit workout that focuses on strength and endurance. DESTINATION hosts this workout utilizing barbells, strongman stones, racks, sleds and prowlers totally taxing the whole body and every energy system available.
"Fight like you train. You have to be able to bridge the gap between the weight room and the playing field aka any S.W.A.T scenario." - Jeremy Hart
"Getting our heart rate up is good too. Not only for just the sake of raising it but when our adrenaline pumps it all goes to being able to control our shooting, our decision making. It all works together physiologically and mentally collectively together." - Butch Steinle
